Today was our last clinic in Trece Martires. It was a day of mixed blessings, seeing so many people lined up for treatment, many who have  been queued there since the early hours of the morning and knowing that there are limited spots available and the disappointment that follows but we have been blessed to be able to treat as many as we have. We started the day with our team prayer giving thanks to God and asking for his wisdom in guiding us in our work. I gave a Dental Health talk on the importance of  brushing their teeth regularly and cutting out sugar which is a huge part of their diet and the reason for so much tooth decay.

The dentists see so much decay in very young children and adults that it was such a surprise when Kim did a check up on a 28 year old lady  and she had no teeth missing and no fillings. Her teeth were perfect! That hasn’t been seen in any of the 4 mission trips. Our 3 doctors were kept busy again and a few surprised surgeries being done. Michael removed a large fatty mole on the leg and a sebaceous cyst on the arm.

After seeing our last medical and dental patients we enjoyed lunch prepared by the volunteers. The teamwork between our BL family and our team over the past few days has been amazing. Miracles do happen when we all work as one in God.

After saying are goodbyes to our BL Trece Martires family we finished the night with an all you can eat Korean BBQ which was something new to myself and Helen.

During our 6 clinics we  have seen 162 dental patients with 361 extractions and 30 fillings. Medical patients seen 286.
