How time flies. Today is the last day of our mission. Praise God that Van is feeling better but unfortunately he is still not well enough to join us in serving at the clinic.

It has been a challenging day for the doctors. There were cases where no treatment could be provided due to the complexity of the illness.

Michael saw a lady in her thirties with lymphoma. She was diagnosed 2 yrs ago but unfortunately due to the lack of transport to hospital and her husband abandoning her with 4 kids, she did not proceed with the prescribed treatment. Her condition has gotten worse and is now in late stage with poor prognosis. Pastor Christian spent some time sharing the gospel with her and she came to accept Christ. Praise the Lord!

Betty saw a 9 year old girl , brought in by her grandmother, with exceptionally poor vision. She has lost her sight in her left eye from an accident, and her right eye is very myopic. Arrangement has been made for us to pay for her to get a pair of glasses so that she can at least see clearly with her right eye.

For the dentists, again we saw a lot of patients with poor oral hygiene and badly decayed and broken down teeth. Thank God for sustaining Leander and I to get through the same number of patients without Van.

We finished the day on a high even though we were all physically tired but feel very fulfilled. We gain so much spiritually from the patients we saw and from the entire BL team. They are always so enthusiastic and willing to help us in every way. We could not have accomplished what we did without the tireless effort from all the staff and volunteers.

After dinner we had fellowship with the BL staff and volunteers, finishing the day with a games night.

When we got back to our hotel we had a get together to review our time here. With drinks and nibbles we shared our wonderful experiences as well as our challenges, what we learnt from our time here and what we can improve on. We prayed and thanked God for the teamwork between ourselves in partnering with BL, the wonderful fellowship and sustaining us through all challenges.

As much as I am looking forward to going home to my family I am going to miss my BL family. It has been 2 great weeks of teamwork, fellowship and serving our Lord and making his name known in Trece and Marilao.
